Which one should you use in 2023, CSS or Bootstrap?
CSS or Bootstrap? Which ones should you learn or use for your 2023 project? Let’s start with what you need to learn if you’re going to be a front-end developer. If you’re just starting, please don’t learn Bootstrap before CSS because Bootstrap is essentially a CSS framework, which means all the classes are based on legacy CSS, and if you learn Bootstrap first and CSS later, learning CSS can be much harder for you.
If you want to become a front-end developer, you have to learn CSS because it is part of your job and if you want to extend your knowledge later, you can also learn Bootstrap because today some projects use Bootstrap as well. But on the other hand, if you’re a backend developer, you won’t bother too much with CSS. Unless you want to go into the full stack, learning CSS shouldn’t be a priority for you. If your project focuses on design-related issues and your client wants to have a unique customizable theme with a flexible design, you should go for the CSS option. Because CSS gives you a much more flexible and unique way to build your interface. But if the project is more focused on the back-end part and the design is not so important, if your client is just ok with a simple design, then you can go for the bootstrap option. But you need to make it clear that later you are not going to do that much customization with the bootstrap code because it will be much more difficult than writing your CSS class.
Now, let’s also compare CSS and Bootstrap in detail. Since CSS is much bigger than Bootstrap, it takes much longer to learn. But on the other hand, it gives you complete flexibility. You can also name your classes if you wish. No installation is required. You can start using CSS right away. But since you have to build everything yourself, it takes much longer to build projects. If you use Bootstrap it will be much faster. But you’ll probably have less flexibility because you’ll be using classes with pre-defined names, so you don’t need to spend time naming your classes, because it can get difficult to come up with names for your CSS classes after a while. However, since Bootstrap is a framework, you cannot use it right away. You must install it in your project if you want to use it. And since Bootstrap has a large number of pre-made different components, it will take much less time to create the UI design for your projects. Another important point is that the responsive design and layout of the project are much easier to create by using bootstrap. But today, CSS also offers new features such as flexbox, which also allows you to develop a responsive layout.
