Designing and building a website requires careful planning when it comes to estimated cost and delivery time. The final invoice must be set in advance to ensure the project is considered a success for both the client and the development company. Good estimates make the difference between a profitable project and an overpriced failure.

Over the past 10 years, our development team has completed over 550 website development projects. Almost all of them have made our customers incredibly happy. Customers can rightly get upset if initial estimates start at $1,000 and end up going to $5,000. These huge price differentials occur when little or no planning goes into the project management phase of the development process.

The key area of planning involves breaking up the projects into small parts, pointing out the challenging areas and scheduling the task with the responsible developers. I suggest to carry out some research work regarding the challenging area before a time estimation. If you solve the problem area, or at least find the ways by which you can solve the tough parts, then your estimation will be more accurate.

A small web design project can become an expensive and time consuming undertaking if you don’t think and pay attention to project management. You can use some helpful tips and techniques to increase the accuracy of your estimates and ensure that projects are carried out professionally.
